[NL] Transformatie
De rode draad in mijn kunst is transformatie, met daarin onderwerpen zoals leven en dood, licht en herstel, vernieuwing en opleving. Tijdens dit proces is veerkracht het cruciale mechanisme dat bepaalt of verandering leidt tot herstel, vernieuwing en versterking, of juist verval. Het toont hoe de mens, de natuur en de samenleving omgaan met verandering. Vanuit mijn menselijke ervaring ben ik ervan overtuigd dat veerkracht niet zonder hoop en positiviteit kan floreren. Veerkracht verschijnt in vele vormen; een grensgebied tussen het tastbare en het ontastbare.

Roadkill Reborn

NL. Roadkill Reborn. Assemblage, 85 x 85 x 120cm. Kikker, glas, console, zand, licht. Deze assemblage is een beeldend onderzoek naar de mogelijkheid om de kikker te bewegen naar herstel of opleving. Ze toont, zowel in inhoud als materiaal, een actieve, dragende kracht van de overgang. De materiaalsoorten en het contrast tussen het gevormde glas en de platte kikker maken deze overgang visueel. De console met zand en het licht bewegen mee met het geheel.

Roadkill Reborn, werkproces (studie) / working process (study)

EN. Roadkill Reborn. Assemblage 85 x 85 x 120 cm. Frog, glass, console, sand, light. This assemblage is a visual exploration of the possibility of moving the frog toward recovery or revival. Both in content and material, it demonstrates an active, supporting force of the transition. The types of materials and the contrast between the shaped glass and the flat frog make this transition visual. The console with sand and the light move along with the whole.

Sculptuur

[NL] Sculptuur - Afdruk (van gips) en een stroomsnoer. Deze sculptuur is een gipsafgietsel van de verborgen tussenruimte onder de vloer, gevormd door een geul in het gebouw. Door deze onzichtbare infrastructuur af te gieten, verandert de ondergrondse leegte in een tastbare vorm in de bovengrondse ruimte. Het gekrulde stroomsnoer functioneert hierin als een vitale lijn die de sculptuur verbindt met haar oorsprong.

[EN] Plaster cast and a power cord. This sculpture is a plaster cast of the hidden interstitial space beneath the floor, shaped by a trench within the building. By casting this invisible infrastructure, the subterranean void changes into a tangible form within the above-ground space. The coiled power cord functions as a vital line that connects the sculpture to its origin.

Endemism

[NL] Endemism - Sculptuur. 165 x 80 x 80 cm. PIR-schuim en 5 strobalen in plastic. Het werk toont een menselijke figuur zonder hoofd. De uiteenlopende materialen – het PIR-schuim en de vijf in plastic verpakte strobalen – bezitten een identieke kleur. [EN] Sculpture. PIR foam and 5 straw bales wrapped in plastic. The work depicts a headless human figure. The contrasting materials—the PIR foam and the five straw bales wrapped in plastic—possess an identical color.

Inverse and Evolute

[NL] Inverse - Assemblage. Ei, marmer en fotoafdruk. Deze assemblage onderzoekt de blik van binnen naar buiten, en andersom. [EN] Assemblage. Egg, marble, and photographic print. This assemblage explores the perspective from the inside out, and vice versa.

[NL] Evolute – Assemblage. Ei en fotoafdruk. Een beeldend onderzoek naar dimensies en de plaats van het krommingsmiddelpunt van een gegeven kromme, waarbij de randen naar buiten zijn gerold. [EN] Assemblage. Egg and photographic print. A visual exploration of dimensions and the locus of the centre of curvature of a given curve, with the edges rolled outward.

[EN] Transformation
The common thread throughout my art revolves around transformation, encompassing subjects such as life and death, light and recovery, renewal and revival. During this process, resilience is the crucial mechanism that determines whether change leads to recovery, renewal, and strengthening, or rather to decay. It demonstrates how humanity, nature, and society cope with change. Grounded in my personal experience, I am convinced that resilience cannot flourish without hope and positivity. Resilience appears in many forms; a threshold between the tangible and the intangible.
