Patricia Smits
– Touched by injustice and sorrow caused by ruptures between the ideal and the reality. – “My work floats in this context. From a mix of reality, association and imagination, I create worlds in which other precepts of thinking and acting can arise, thereby question our existence. The relationships between people, animals, nature and culture are thereby being central. With the work I want to seduce you to step into my metaphysical world. A world in which reality and imagination alternate and humor and poetry predominate.” My work is an ongoing search into the magical boundaries in reality, guided by installations, video, photo, painting and drawing. Inspired by; philosophy, time, nature, constructions and transformations.
