Transformation #1 – #2 – installation with sound
Transformation #1 – video installation + sound, loop 6.34 min. Film with sound (only part of the complete film, 0.44 sec). [ENG] Transformation #1. Video installation with sound (screen, power cables). The work arose from filming the beautiful, rotating wooden interior (the heart) of the mill. In the end I just used the sound of it. The intense creaking (and uncomfortable) sound can be heard during the figure's movements in the film. The film is a transformation of a figure.
[NL] Transformatie #1.
[ENG] For this installation I used a sculpture that I often use at other locations. It has no head or identity and has been outside for several years, making the outside increasingly greener (moss). The image connects with the space (the strange angle in the walls, various pipes and the old electrical installation).
Krachtveld [force field], installation
Krachtveld (force field), installation, 7.5x5m.
[ENG] Krachtveld [Force field]. A site specific installation with five large, transparent epoxy plates and red pigment 7.5x5m. The installation hangs from the construction (support beam) of the building. The low space has a mysterious and sensitive atmosphere, which provides a nice contrast with the heavy stone and concrete of the building. The installation arose from this contrast. You can touch the work and walk between it.

Hierarchy rules and RAW Material. Site specific installation, 2 video's and adjustments to the space
part 1: Hierarchy rules – video installation, loop 15 sec.
[ENG] I came across three deer in the countryside and filmed them. While editing the film, I wondered if I could just make this film public. Because perhaps this was a private moment for the deer? (And who am I?) I kept the film for a long time, when I came to this (site specific) place, I used the film in an installation. The installation is on top of the suspended ceiling. The film is edited in such a way that the deer walk backwards (maybe they do that someday and we never see it?). To watch the short video film you have to climb up an uncomfortable ladder (about 2.5 m). This was done on purpose so that as a viewer you have to make more effort to see the film. I like the idea that the three deer from the film can "dominate" the viewer.
part 2: RAW material, video installation loop.
[ENG] This installation shows a large projection from floor to ceiling, (2.5x6m.) It is about a chicken that I wanted to film from the bottom, through a glass plate. A new perspective to look at this beautiful animal. I soon noticed that I was ordering the chicken around and becoming impatient because she was afraid to walk on the glass plate (which people often experience with a glass floor). Finally the chicken walked across the glass plate. When I watched the film during editing, I felt ashamed of my impatient and domineering attitude towards the chicken. That's why I didn't edit the film and used the unedited (“RAW”) version.
